CDP Presents: Moral Injury Recognition and Care - Online via Adobe Connect
This event will be held 27 July 2017, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Eastern, with one hour of instruction and additional time for a Q&A period.

Description:
This 90-minute webinar (60 minutes instruction, 30 minutes Q&A), led by William P. Nash, M.D. is sponsored in part by the Cohen Veterans Network. Participants will learn how increasing attention has been drawn to the concept of moral injury, conceived to be a potentially lasting adverse health outcome that may result from exposure to events which strongly contradict deeply held expectations about right and wrong, duty and obligation. Although research on moral injury is in its infancy, the concept enjoys broad and growing acceptance in science, religion, and the arts because of its face validity. The theoretical underpinnings of the concept of moral injury will be described, emerging research on moral injury will be reviewed, and challenges for the prevention, recognition, and care of moral injury will be identified.

System Requirements:
This course will be presented via Adobe Connect teleconferencing software. Participants will not have to install any additional programs on their computer to take part. However, a web browser is necessary with updated Flash (11.2+) is required. Participants can test their computer's capabilities by clicking here (or visiting http://admin.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm). We recommend those using Internet connections on government or military locations test their ability to load Adobe Connect in advance of the event to ensure there are no technical difficulties.

Microphones and webcams are not necessary, but you will need a computer with working speakers or headphones. It is recommended that Mac users access the training link using either the Chrome or Firefox browser to minimize problems. Everyone must participate using a separate computer rather than joining a group of people viewing via one machine.

If you encounter connections issues when using your computer, the Adobe Connect app is available for iOS and Android devices. We will also be posting a recording of the presentation for on-demand viewing after the completion of the event. However, CEs will not be available for the recorded version.

Continuing Education Details:
All participants who register, attend and successfully complete a short post-training evaluation/assessment will be eligible to receive one free CE. CEs will be provided through PESI, Inc. For specific details about eligible disciplines and recognizing bodies, please click here.

For CE credit information only, please contact Bridget Schaub at: bschaub@pesi.com. If you have any other questions or concerns, please submit them via the "Help Request" form here: http://deploymentpsych.org/about/contact-us

Please note: This webinar is a collaboration between the Center for Deployment Psychology and the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) funded in part under an education contract with CVN.
